My great grandfather James turnbull is shown in the 1841 and 1851 census(Gladsmuir) as born Wick Caithnessshire about 1810 however there is no trace of his birth on Scotlandspeople.Death cert only shows Andrew as the father.Being pre 1841 records I wondered if there were any school records in Wick showing Turnbulls.
He may fit into a family Andrew turnbull/Isobel cuthbertson who had births elsewhere in the county but for Wick I have nothing.Can anybody help please.I started with him in the family bible and have got nowhere.
