Where do i start?
Jack Cooke was born south of Dublin approximately 1870 onwards. I do know that he had 5 children named Walter, Albert, Les , Florrie and Nellie and that one of them Albert was born in Leicester, England in 1897 and that Albert Cooke married Alice Elizabeth Morris in 1921 also in Leicester.
So where do i find out about my Great Grandfather Jack? I am suprised that Jack had 5 children with none of them having irish first names...could that be because he was in England?
Why would Jack have moved to Leicester in the late 1880's or 90's? I know that from the 1860's onwards Leicester was expanding rapidly, housing was being built to cope with the increase of workers needed who were connected with the main industries in Leicester of shoewear, hosiery and knitwear. Also the railways were expanding rapidly, Jack was listed as a Stoker on Albert's wedding certificate...could that be on a steam train?
Help please, point me in a direction, any!
