Stodgell, Stogdell, Stodgill

I'm looking for information on John Stogdell (Slodgell) who left Somerset Co in 1650. John came to the US (Virginia) as a headright to James Hurd in 1650. I'm trying to find out where John was born and who his relatives were/are. Thanks.
