I am trying to find some information about an ancestor of mine, Edmund Procter, from London. He belonged to the Presbyterian Church and lived in the first half of the nineteenth century.
He was married to an Italian lady, Matilde Modini from Venice and the father of my great-grandmother.
He almost certainly lived in Istanbul between 1830 and 1847: three of his children were born in
Istanbul in 1842, 1845 and 1846 respectively. They were baptized in the Roman Catholic Church of Santa Maria Draperis at Beyoglu. I actually possess their certificates of Baptism.
I do not know, however, if he got married in Istanbul.
He is likely to have worked with the British Embassy in Istanbul.
He died within 1850, probably there.
