I' looking for the paents of my gggrandfather Samuel Roebuck born Sep 5, 1828 in Leicester, England. Known siblings are John and Lucy.
His mother's maiden name appears to be a variant spelling of Anderson. She died about 1880 while living on High Cross St in Leicester.
Samuel and brother John immigrated to New York City about 1854.
Sister Lucy remained in England and in 1901 lived in Acleston Park.

Samuel Roebuck was my wife's gggrandfather and I have been looking for information on him and his parents for quite a while now. I know it's been 6 years since your original post, but I may have some information for you. I added the information you posted above to what I have and I think that Mrs. Roebuck's first name may have been Lucy (mother) born in 1802 in Leicester, England. John was born about 1831 in Leicester, and Lucy (dau) was born about 1840 in Leicester. Since the 1841 England Census record shows Lucy (mother) as the head of household, I can only surmise that Samuel's father died about 1839 in Leicester.
