My great great grandfather, James Gillan (bc1860), moved from Scotland (location unknown) to Manchester- though not during the time period you specify so not sure if there are any connections.
James married Adelaide Harvey and lived in the Miles Platting/Newton Heath area of Manchester with their large family. Children included: Mary E(llen)c1879, Thomas c1884, Isaac c1886 (my great grandfather), Adelaide c1891, William c1894, James c1896, Margaret c1897, Elizabeth c1899 also Leonard (1893-1898).
