I'm looking for information on my great-great-grandmother Frances Doney who moved with her then husband, Edward Lewis, a coal-miner, from Wrexham to Trimdon in about 1870. Their second son Edward was born there. Between then and the 1881 census she was widowed and married a John Armstrong and was living with him in Whitworth at the time of the census.
Frances must have been widowed again as she married a Mr Doney. I'm not sure if this would have been in the UK as she and her three sons moved to the USA in the late 1880s or early 1890s.
I would be very grateful if anyone could give me information about the Armstrong marriage and the Doney marriage (if it took place in County Durham).
