McLauchlan/White/Taylor

My gggrandfather, James W. McLauchlan, was a schoolmaster in the early 1800's in Crook. He married Elizabeth White. They had five children...John, Margaret, James W., William, and Joseph. After Elizbeth died in 1838, James married Ann Thonpson, and there were two additional children by this marriage. My ggrandfather, John McLauchlan, brought most of his family to the United States. Any information would be appreciated.

On Family Search there is an Ancestral File which states that James McLAUCHLAN was born in 1804 in Scotland and married Ann THOMPSON in 1825. She was born in Whorlton, DUR Feb.3rd.1805 and died March 10th.1870 at Middlesbrough. Her parents were James Thompson and Ann Carter and grandparents John Thompson and Ann James. There children were John 1826; Margaret 1829; James 1831; William 1834; Joseph 1843 and Ann 1845.
