Many generations of Pugmires were in the area of Castle Sowerby and Kirkoswald. Is there historical information about the Pugmire family. The oldest Pugmire in our record is Jonathan Alexander Pugmire to Sarah Allen. He was born about 1702 in Castle Sowerby and she about 1706 in the same place. His son was Jonathan to Sarah Barnfather and their son was Jonathan to Hannah Hetherington. Their son was Jonathan Pugmire 1799 to Elizabeth Barnes. Have George Barnes b 1775 in Carlisle as Elizabeth's father but no mother.
