I am searching for any Stewart or Taylor families in Stirlingshire, especially Alva area, (early 1800's and back). I have in my family line a James Stewart who was born abt. 1724-1734 in possibly Alva Scotland. He married a Mary/Jemima Taylor about 1750. There is a suggestion that he came from the Alva area. I don't know for sure if he married Mary/Jemima Taylor in USA or Scotland. His father may have been a Charles or James Stewart, again not certain. Any info on any Stewart's or Taylor's in the area would be a help as it will either add to the possibilities or delete them. Thanks in advance. Dawn
