Looking for any infromation regarding the Whiteside or Leitch families.
Samuel Whiteside born Antrim, Ireland married Eliza leitch of Greenock.
Eliza was born around 1799 and they had children: Mary, Samuel, Elizabeth and Ann Whiteside. While these children were born in ireland they eventually settled back in Greenock.
Mary born abt 1832 married John May, Samuel migrated to New Zealand, Elizabeth born abt 1840 married Samuel Sloan and Ann born abt 1843 married John Hynds.
Each of the girls had children born in Greenock.
Samuel senior died in the Greenock Asylum in abt 1865.
Any info, particularly regarding Eliza/Elizabeth Leitch/Leech and her family or any of the children and their descendents would be greatly appreciated.
Samuel jnr, who migrated to New Zealand, was my paternal Great Grandfather.
