I am looking for information about my maternal great-greatgrandfather, Alexander McBain. I believe he was born in Nairn in 1820,however, there was some indication that the family originally came from Poolewe.

My gggrandfather Alexander C. McBean was born 1820 Invernesshire to Alexander and Margaret Eddie McBean. It is my understanding that the spelling of the McBain name changed to McBean in Canada. Feel free to email me if you think I might be helpful to you.
