WATTERS/MANSON - Watten/Lathernon

Hi all:

I am researching Matthew WATTERS (1801-1849) who married Jane MANSON (1801-1860) 20 December 1823. Matthew & Jane had 7 children: George (1824-?), John (1826-1884), Ann (1828-1910), Benjamin Meiklejohn (1832-?), Matthew (1835-1894), Janet (1837-1838) and Jane (1843-1930).

Sometime between the 1841 census and when Jane was born in 1843 Matthew, Jane, John, Ann, and Matthew emigrated to Grey County, Ontario, Canada. John married Catherine Maria BARNES and moved to Marlette Michigan USA and then Parry Sound, Ontario. Ann married Barnabas JACKSON and moved to Marlette Michigan and then Marshall South Dakota. Matthew married Mary Louise VANALSTINE and moved to Marlette Michigan. Jane married James HOOPER and their homestead in Grey County is still lived in by their descendants.

I have corresponded with 2 other descendants of Matthew and Jane, and would love to correspond with any other descendants of this family.

I am not related to this family but I am currently researching and writing a book on Pioneers of Marlette, Lamotte, Evergreen, Moore, Elmer and Flynn Townships of Sanilac County. Also I am including Burnside Township in Lapeer County and Koylton Township in Tuscola County. I am wondering if by chance you or maybe you know of someone that has any information or photos of Mr. Matthew Watters (1835 to 1894) and his family.
