My Great-Great Grandfather was James Thomson m. Jane Greig b.1821, d. Dec. 1. 1892, married July 22, 1848, New Deer, Scotland. I am looking for antecedents of the Thomson line as well as siblings of James Thomson b. 1852, d. 1933 probably in Fetterangus, Old Deer. It is my understanding that Old Deer Parish was in Banffshire prior to the mid 19th century. Correct me if I'm wrong. I know for certain that my grandfather, John Thomson was born August 1, 1885 at Fetterangus, Old Deer, Scotland (record in possession) and had siblings James, Alec, Mary, William and Ed, who all emigrated to Western Canada and are accounted for. Any information of any kind, whether it be parish records, gravestones, or unknown family links would be much appreciated.
