Ramsay

I am searching for information on James D. Ramsay, born July 1850 in Scotland. James immigrated to
the U.S. in 1866 supposedly with a brother (name unknown). Family verbal history indicates that James may have been from Edinburg. Assistance with identifying his parents would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know anything of a Elspeth [Elizabeth Ramsay who married an Alexander Melville of Fifeshire Scotland, the had several children and were married between 1628 and 1632 I am guessing as their first child was born about then an son named Robert, then a John, Elspeth, Mary and a Euphan I believe.
