I am searching for family background of Jane Durham, my Great-Grandmother - her maiden name probably was Atkinson (maybe Adkerson). The 1881 British census (place: Satterthwaite, Lancashire) lists her birth place as "Ferryhale, Westmorland" which I have been unable to locate on maps, etc. The 1881 census said she was 21 years old which is close to the 1 April 1861 dates that our family records. Jane was married to Frederick Durham from Thorne, York - they immigrated to Texas, USA in October (?) 1883 - they had one child born in England who was my grandmother (Margaret Mae - b. 1881 in Hawkshead, Lancashire). Any assistance with identifying the family of Jane would be appreciated.
