Would like to FIND some DESCENDANTS (still surnamed Spencer, today, or was their Maiden name) of the "Spencers in Birmingham", who were/ are still today, Jewellers/Jewelers.
The Spencer jewellery family of Birmingham has been traced back to the mid 18th century. These Spencers were the first to machine-cut diamonds in England.
David Spencer, who trained in this area, now carries out his jewellry business in Staffordshire. (His business is known as "Spencer, The Jeweller"--have attempted contact,
via his website, but no response).
A branch of the family moved out to South Africa in the 1880's and settled in Port Elizabeth.
Would also love to have contact w/any descendants of the So. Africa branch, if any.
