My gggrandfather was William Phykitt who came to NY in 1883 on the SSEgypt. His eldest daughter Annie was my father's grandmother...Dad lived with her when he was little and remembered her well. On the 1920 Census (which was just before Dad was born) William Phykitt lived with Annie and her daughters. Dad (William) was surely named to honor his great grandpa.
I have always thought the citizenship app was his as he is the only Phykitt I can find at the time...in fact I would be surprised if all the Phykitts in the states were not descended from William and Sarah Bonnett Phykitt.
However, my William was born in Rowston, Lincolnshire, England according to the English Census.
I would love to touch bases with you and learn more about your research..and if we are indeed related I can give you information on William's siblings,
