There is a Thomas Cockburn (gamekeeper) age 35 listed in the 1881 census in Duddo. His wife was Christina Chirnside (sister of my ggrandmother) and they had daughter Mary A. Cockburn, age 1 listed on census.
I would like to find more info on this family. In my ggrandmother's will (Margaret Chirnside Steel - written 1909) she leaves a legacy to her sister Christina Cockburn, or if deceased, her daughter (unnamed).
Christina & Margaret's mother, Christina Chirnside,(maiden name Gray) died in 1896 with the place of death listed as "Conandrean Farm Cottages" (the first word is impossible to decipher!) with Margaret in attendance at her death.
