penaluna

i have been researching the name of penaluna my fathers last name for about 2yrs i thought it came from cornwall which it does but there is a gap i thought my grtgrandad was born in flintshire but today have found out he came from earsdon i think thats the right spelling if any one has any info please email me thanks

In the 1881 census, there were PENALUNA families from Cornwall who were at Durham and Cumberland at the time of the census. I didn't see any from Northumberland where Earsdon was.

I know that there is a Penaluna family living in Seaton Sluice as my son was in the same year at school as one of their sons. As it is such an unusual name I'm sure there must be a connection. Seaton Sluice is not far from Earsdon. I hope this information might be useful.
