I guess I will be the second posting to this site. I am looking for information on the Stugess/Sturdgess family of Shutlanger pre 1739. With the help of Norman Tew, most of us researching this line have found a beginning with John Sturgess c1739. John married Sarah Malshaw, but I can find nothing prior to this date. From that point on the family appear to have stayed close to home with relatives in Shtutlanger, Stoke Bruerne, Ashton, Blisworth, etc.
Has anyone on this search been able to identify pre-1939 information on the family.
For reference, my grandmother was Harriet Sturdgess, daughter of Edmund.
