My ancestor Richard Warde of Stretton, Rutlandshire supposedly married Joyce Trafford on 5 May 1606 at Garthorpe, Leicestershire England. She emigrated to the US - Connecticut and died in 1640. Her husband is sometimes listed as Stephen and sometimes Richard. Richard died 2 October 1635 and was buried in the parish churchyard at Stretton. His will names the same children that Joyce does in her later will.
Many records persistently name Stephen as the husband of Joyce. I am hoping to find a record of Richard and Joyce marriage. Was she married to both Stephen and Richard? Was her maiden name Traford, Trayford, Trafford, Stafford???
It is my understanding that Rutlandshire records might be combined with Leicestershire records.
