Researching Richard Whittle who was born June, 1830 in Westhoughton and immigrated to the U.S. and arrived in New York in 1852. I believe his siblings include an Adelaide who was born abt 1834 (possibly in Hindley) and married an Alexander Hope. Adelaide and Alexander may have also immigrated to the U.S. but returned to the Lancashire area in the 1860's. Richard was living with her at the time of the 1901 census but returned to the U.S. and his family in 1902 where he died in Illinois.
Other siblings of Richard may have been Robert born abt 1832 and Alice born abt 1838. I do not know anything more regarding Robert and Alice.
