I am researching the Allred family of Eccles Parish and Manchester in the 1600's. John Allred wrote a letter to his brother-in-law, Phineas Pemberton, dated 1695. John was in Manchester at that time. Phineas was in Pennsylvania, USA. John was asking for enough money to pay ship's passage for himself, his wife and 3 sons, Owen who was 20, Theophilus who was 19 and Solomon who was 16.
