I am looking for information about James Gillan, born c 1860, somewhere in Scotland.
James moved to Manchester and married Adelaide Harvey (1861). James and Adelaide had numerous children including Mary Ellen (c1879), Thomas (c1884), Isaac (b1886 - my great grandfather), Adelaide (c1891), Leonard (1893 - 1898), William (c1894),James (c1896), Margaret (c1897), Elizabeth (c1899) and possibly John (c1901). The family lived in the Newton Heath/Miles Platting area of Manchester and various family members were employed in the clay pipe industry in Manchester.
I would appreciate any info. about James' origins in Scotland and/or links to anyone researching the same Gillans. Thank you in anticipation!
