I'm searching my gggrandfather Richard Pyle b. 1824 Alphington, Devon. IGI states Richard & Sarah are his parents. I know he was a coal miner in Illinois. Is there coal mines close to this area? He married Sarah Jane Collingwood ? and had 5 children before coming to Illinois in 1850,s. The map said Cornwall has mines does Devon also?
