1557. Thomas Perkyns of Thurlaston, parish of Elvaston, Co. of Derby.

In his will, dated 23 May, 1557, he directs that he shall "be buried in the parish church of Elvaston," and mentions: Elizabeth, Jone, "my two daughters" unmarryed. Nicholas Person and his children, John Coxson, Henry Wode, Elya Perkyns, John Perkyns "my son." John Perkyns, John Bonsover, executors. Nicholas Bentley, supervisor. Nicholas Homes, Elys Coxson, Elya Smethley, John Bradshaw, witnesses.

The inventory, not dated, was taken by: William Coghyn, John Lankshyr [Lancashire?], Thomas Lygge, John Williamson.

Amount £30. 16s. 8d.

Proved at Lichfield [Litchfield?], 13 September, 1557, by John Perkins, power reserved for John Bonsover.
