Dear Fellow Genealogists . . . My husband's grandfather, George Armstrong, was born in Cleator. He was one of nine children. George and two brothers, Joseph and James, all left England sometime after the 1881 census. Five sisters, a brother (who died young) and their parents remained in England. The names of the Armstrong sisters were: Mary J., Margaret, Frances, Eleanor, and Isobella. It is said that these sisters corresponded with their brothers here in America up until the time of World War One. We would very much like to find descendants of these sisters. Another Armstrong relative by the name of Mary, born about 1841, married a Jonathan Todd. Frances Armstrong, born about 1876, married Isaac Kitchen.
