Hello All . . . I am trying to learn more about my husband's ancestors from Cumberland. I am currently looking for descendants of the Armstrong family living in Cleator from the 1840s until the 1880s, and the Anderson family from
Egremont during the 1830s until the 1880s. William Anderson was born in Egremont in 1836. He married Barbara Clements, born in 1838. They had several children including: Jessie (female), Abraham, William, James, Bridget, Thomas, Barbara and Hannah. There may have been more, but this is all I have. Hope to hear from anyone knowing anything about either of these families.
