I have Simpsons (loads of them!)from Borrowdale way back in my line which first alerted me to your message.
Anyway, it's only a tiny piece of info but during my searches I came across one Annie Plaskett who lodged with the same Betty Fleming of Stonethwaite that my GGGGGrandfather did. It was the 1881 census and Annie was 11 years old and from Keswick.
It probably won't help much but I thought it might interest you.
Incidentally, if you're of the Borrowdale Simpson line, I'd love to hear from you!
