I am searching for info on the D'Arcy family in Penzance early 1880's.
Col. George Abbas Kooli D'Arcy (1818-1885) married Caroline N.
They "adopted" Alice Coulson ~1870->1901 b. in Stanley.
Her parents were: William Coulson & Martha Maguire of Stanley, Falkland Is) bef 1881.
The D'Arcy's were in the 1881 Census for Penzance at 9 Albert Terrace.
George was the former Governor of The Gambia & later The Falkland Islands.
He had an obit in the British Guiana Colonist Newspaper as well.
He died at Leighton (Hartley) Villas, Plymouth, Devon in 1885.
George's parents were Lt Col Joseph D'Arcy who died at Priestlands, Lymington, England.
George's mother was Catherine-Georgiana West the daughter of Earl De La Warr (John Richard West).

George is my 3rd Great Uncle - His father Lt Col Joseph D'Arcy is my 3rd Great Grandfather.
I have been trying to confirm the parentage of Joseph's father who was Gen Robert D'Arcy - supposedly the illegitimate son of Robert D'Arcy (4th Earl of Holderness) but can find no evidence- I also have a Col Francis D'Arcy (soldier of fortune killed in the American War) potentially listed as Gen D'Arcy's Father but again no evidence.
Any help would be welcomed.
