As sometimes witnesses at a wedding can indicate some family connections I am floating the above connection in case others may hold a clue as to what the connection is if any. The wedding details (in Shropshire).
At "The Parish Church" Wombridge -- William Henry JONES married Sarah TEECE - on 7 November 1865. (Reg No 289.) William a 32 year old butcher of Oakengates, son of John JONES, a Forgeman. Sarah, 20 year old resided in Oakengates, Sarah's father was Robert Teece, a Forgeman.
Witnesses Annie Corbett and Edward Corbett.
William signed,
Sarah made a mark.
According to an IGI entry a John JONES married an Ann CORBIT May 16, 1833 at Avenbury, Hereford, England
Could the spelling of Corbit have been transcribed incorrectly and could this John JONES be William Henry's father?
The date of this Hereford wedding is about right if William Henry was the eldest son. This Ann CORBitT is unlikely
to be the witness at later wedding Annie CORBETT as she would have then been a JONES.
