My gg-grandparents were William and Martha Maria Chamberlain SUNMAN TIDNAM. They owned the Rose and Crown Hotel in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. One of their sons, Frederick Hazeltine Tidnam was my great-grandfather. He married Mary Charlotte ALFORD. Her parents were Robert and Mary JAPP ALFORD. I would like to know more about these people.
Frederick H. and Mary Charlotte ALFORD TIDNAM came to the U.S. in the 1880s.He came to work with Thomas Edison. They brought with them two daughters, Helen Alice (Nellie) and Florence Harriet (Flossie). My grandmother, Lillian Mary, was born in the U.S. in 1894. She married Ancel Earp in 1917.
I would like to learn more, particularly about the ALFORDs, the JAPPs, and the SUNMANs. I can help with the family on this side. I also have some old photographs.
