Graham, and Molton

Hello, I am trying to research the paternal side of my family. My father's family name was Ed Graham. My father was born 12/28/1892 in Montgomery Co., AL. In my research I possibly found some of his ancesters in SC and AL, and VA. Our branch is Afro-American; a number of the names I came across indicated that the people were mulatto; they were either slaves or freed people of color. My father's mother's name is possibly Lena Moltin, or Henderson or Young. His father's name was Edd Graham. I am not sure since there is no one still alive to give me an accurate info. In my research, the Graham is listed several different ways: Grayham, Grim, Gram, Grim.
Any assistance would be appreciated. The primary branch of the Graham is now based in AL, but others are settled across the U.S.
