Looking for information re: the following family from Paisley
John Porter b. 5 Feb.1795 to William Porter and Elizabeth Betton/Beaton; died in Ottawa Canada in 1858. Had signed a petition circa 1820 to depart for Canada in the next year (Paisley Townhead Emigration Society ) Also a James Porter b.28 NOV 1793 in Paisley Renfrewshire Scotland to the same parents signed the petition but I am unable to trace him. I do not know if he left Scotland with his brother or not.
There was another brother William Porter b.23 FEB 1797 in Low Church Paisley Renfrewshire Scotland but have not been able to trace him.
